Literature Text

they come from lost winds and swim
from lost winds where all the fragments
in them were the war before this mirror-noctuary
and there seed the forbidden
sea with frostbitten kisses.

Ophelia’s life in gospel—all is wild,
spelled with dizzy discord,
human limbs swimming
in all the strife they see,
drowning in forestalled warnings,
we are songs, notched leaves tucked
against the marked eddies of waterfalls
and shaken thus.

we’re at war: kinesthesia in this warren inert,
kindred psalms with blue music beset in dust—
give us unseen heights, desiccated paper,
and nights of fear, gardens drowning out the
demands to know other waters and earnest men that veer.
dividing from the oft unbidden stars,
the squall answers and blankets the world
in water.
NaPoWriMo Day 23!

The prompt was to take a foreign-language poem and "translate" it phonetically.

I thought the disconnected, somewhat nonsensical feel was perfect for a mad character.  TAC - shakespeare
